Nigerian international Joe Aribo is a major doubt for next month’s friendly international following an injury scare which left him in a pool of blood when Rangers took on Livingstone in a Betfred game on Wednesday night.
According to the Daily Record, Aribo was a first half casualty after taking a heavy blow to the head.
The 23-year-old required treatment in the middle of the park following an aerial challenge with Ricky Lamie which left him with blood pouring from his head.
Aribo was bandaged on the park before being helped off the park with Rangers leading 1-0 from an early deflected Glen Kamara effort.
When he was in the changing room he needed 20 stitches to stop the flow of blood and it could make him a doubt for Saturday’s clash with Aberdeen.
The sight of the towering midfielder being helped off will be a concern for Steven Gerrard with a number of key matches coming up starting with Aberdeen in the Premiership this weekend.
Aribo made a goalscoring debut for Nigeria against Ukraine early this month and was a certainty to be in the roster for the game against Brazil until last night.
Aribo was making his 16th appearance of the season for the Light Blues.
