Information filtering in from Adamawa state indicates that hundreds of supporters of Senator Ishaku Abbo have taken to the streets of Michika in support of the underfire senator.
According to reports, the large crowd of supporters bearing placards affirmed their support for Abbo who’s currently facing prosecution for assault.
The senator faced a Senate panel on Tuesday and is also on bail after pleading not guilty to a charge of assault in court.
Abbo has a strong support base in Adamawa North senatorial district and Michika local government where he won his Senate seat with 12,000 votes.
The protesters apologized to his victim Bibra but insisted on their unreserved support for Ishaku Abbo.
