Erstwhile Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo has contributed an undisclosed amount of money to save ailing Ayokunle Jaiyeola who’s in need of a kidney transplant.

The 37-year old Jaiyeola requires about N10million naira for a transplant and his friends are organising a GoFundMe campaign to raise the money.

They are also doing a sensitization campaign on social media targeting celebrities and tagged Ighalo’s Twitter handle.

Never one to shy away from a worthy humanitarian cause, the China-based star requested for Jaiyeola’s account details to donate.

And not quite long afterwards, he confirmed that he’d sent his own contribution to the medical fund.

The team acknowledged receipt of the donation and profusely thanked Ighalo for his prompt response and assistance.

Ighalo is not a stranger to philanthropy and humanitarian gestures.

He singlehandedly built and runs the Odion Ighalo Orphanage in Lagos which caters to orphans.

The 30-year old who recently announced his retirement from international football was highest goalscorer at the 2019 AFCON with five goals.
