Super Eagles defender Semi Ajayi helped his West Bromwich¬† Albion team record a comfortable 4-2 win to go top of the Championship but it was Oghenekaro Etebo’s Stoke City that generated all the buzz with a 2-1 away win for their first victory of the season.

At the Hawthorns, Ajayi played all 90 minutes as the Baggies raced to a three goal lead through Matheus Pereira, Grady Diangana and Charlie Austin.

Cardiff City threatened a late comeback when Danny Ward scored twice in ten minutes but Romain Sawyers got a fourth for the home team to seal a comfortable victory.

Ajayi has played every single minute of all 11 games for West Brom since his summer move from Rotherham United.

Stoke came back Sam Clucas to level up on 22 minutes.
